At House of Cannabis, we strive to ensure that every transaction is handled accurately and in accordance with Washington State law.
During a recent internal review, we discovered that some transactions involving customers with a Medical Cannabis Recognition Card (MCRC) displayed an incorrect tax breakdown on printed receipts for certain products. This was the result of a configuration error in how our point-of-sale system displayed tax categories.
Importantly, this issue did not change the amount customers were charged at checkout, and it did not affect the taxes we report or remit to the State of Washington. Our prices are programmed as tax-inclusive, and customers always paid the correct final amount.
Once identified, we corrected the configuration and reviewed the issue with our compliance team to ensure that all receipts now reflect the proper tax treatment for both DOH-compliant and non-DOH cannabis products purchased by MCRC patients.
We appreciate the trust our customers place in us and remain committed to operating with transparency, accuracy, and full regulatory compliance.
If customers have questions about this matter, they are welcome to contact us directly.
